Awesome new website
An awesome new website has emerged recently, I won't bother talking about it here, you can see how awesome it is for yourself:

Happy 4th of July
Happy 4th of July! Have fun blowing stuff up!
Things here at DtD Software are moving as slow as usual, but not as slowly as normal
I am almost positive that DtDTD2 will be released...
late.
We also discovered why development is going so slow. We have been modeling Valve Corp, probably the best video game maker ever. However, we seem to have accidentially adopted
Valve Time. Actually, alot of our problems is due to that we have lost our 3D modeler. AGAIN. If anyone can do this stuff good and fast, PLEASE press the contact button above!
Oh yeah, the new website...someday, if I don't die of a segmentation fault before then.
HERE: I know, the website will be up...before DtDTD2 is out.

Web twoo point Oh
I was cleaning out some old stuff from the server today, and found a gem of Web 2.0's starting years:
That is an anchient picture of my own forum software, DtDBB. The project actually matured far past that stage, but never grew into a full-fledged system. (You may notice it is topic 27956, that is thanks to spam bots that found it)
In other more interesting news, I've been working my butt off on the new DtD Software website, it might be ready soon. (Finnally.)

Blah
The new website theme wrapping has taken way longer than expected. Most of the remaining parts are really complicated, so it might still be a while.
As for DtDTD2. We're chugging along still. We've also settled on a release date: August, 2009.

Gonna be late...
Well, technically I'm already late, but I've got good reasons!
The new website is coming along great! A bit back I said I was going to switch to Drupal, but after evaluating it I decided not to.
I evaluated
Drupal,
Joomla,
XOOPS, and
e107 (to name a few.) They all had some major problem with them, and for a while I thought I was going to use e107. However, I eventually had to drop it as well due to its theming system not working well with me. (It is still very young) Anyway, to keep it short, I have settled on using a modded
phpBB as my CMS. Since the main issue with the other CMSes was that their forums were sub-part, out of date, or inconsistent; I think phpBB will be a great choice.
So, my main priority for the past week has been to make a DtD Software theme for phpBB. No, it won't be very different from the current one. However, I refuse to simply tweak some CSS colors and modify overall_header.html and overall_footer.html and such to make it look like my website. So I am creating a style from scratch mostly based on Prosilver's layout. I think it will be done or mostly done in a week.

Time is the enemy
Time is the enemy, I've decided. But, we're all moving at full speed ahead now!
We have a piece of great music from our music artist, Halfway23, to share with you today.
And here it is!

Note: It is in OGG Vorbis format.*
Also, the engine is going along nicely. Pre-engine screenshots seem boring and make it look like I'm getting nothing done, but I really am!
Anyway, here it is:
In case you're wondering, yes we have more models than that one MAG tower, but this one is the one I use for testing.
Also, I promise to have the new website up by th end of the week!

*So you'll need to get an audio player that can play it. See this page for Windows Media Player Codecs.

Stupid Spammers
We had a fun attack of spammers on the forums recently (not that anyone used them anyway) more the reason to get off my lazy butt and finish the new website. (So people will actually want to come here!)

Good bye Lacus, Hello Drupal!
As some of the more observent folk may have noticed, our website is powered by DtD Lacus, our little CMS. However, Lacus is just too small and featureless (or the features it does have are too unstable for a production website) so I have decided to kill the micro-management and replace Lacus with a new, developed CMS. I am thinking about Drupal, since it is supposed to be really nice and easy to extend...
Also, our concept artist for DtDTD2, who is also a pretty good advertising and marketing design guy, will be giving some input on the website design, which I will be redoing once again to support smaller screen resolutions. As always, we will make sure the website works as good as possible in Opera 9, Firefox 3, Safari, Google Chrome, and Internet Explorer 6 & 7 (even if it kills us.)

Don't give up bob!
bob has given up. After 155 days (22 weeks and a day) he just can't take it anymore. Insanity and terrible headaches will come to anyone who stays in confinement like that for so long. I know that I couldn't do it.
Even after all the trouble Nintendo has caused him, he still won't speak badly about Nintendo (well, ok. He did, but he always takes it back...kinda) He still claims it isn't Nintendo's fault that he doesn't have the SDK, when
quite frankly it is.
Please send bob encouraging words at his
website (his email is at the very bottom.)
Good luck bob! Hope you feel better soon! We at DtD Software still believe in you!

Tsk Tsk, Nintendo
This poor guy works on a game for 5 years intending to get it on the Nintendo DS, just to have Nintendo to; no not decline his request, but instead ignore him half way through! Instead of giving him any straight answer, Nintendo just ignores him.
There have been several Indie Games and even a few Homebrews that have gotten Nintendo's blessing and moved on to the consoles commercially (isn't that what Wiiware is for, Nintendo?) One very notable one was
World of Goo, which (I highly recomend you try right now if you haven't already.)
